Happy Thanksgiving to Americans, if they indeed have anything to be thankful for.
Garamm isn’t, strictly speaking, a “dragon guy.” Yes, he has scales, but despite generally seeming to be a good guy most of the time, or at least an emotionally supportive guy, when he isn’t kidnapping college students, he is still a criminal, and not the kind doing something for a righteous cause. You know, Robin Hooding or freeing his people from systematic oppression or anything like that. He was in it for the money. So Maxima never looked at him in “that way.” Plus he has a weird head shape. And Maxima will likely never have a tail, so mutual disinterest there.
Also, Max might have a slight bias for gold scales, for reasons unknown.
Yes, Max does have a boyfriend currently, and she’s not the kind of woman who will use the fact that she’s only been on two dates (barely) with him and the fact that she’s 3,700 light years away off in deep space to give her a one-night stand free pass. Not that she’s ever been into one-night stands. Doesn’t mean she can’t admit she likes the way a guy looks, even if kissing someone with a snout would be fairly awkward. I assume. I’ve definitely never given that any thought. Though if I had, I assume two people with snouts could probably kiss okay. If their snouts more of less matched. Not like if a fox-person tried kissing a horse person. That would be mechanically similar to a fox person kissing a human, I guess. But I’ve totally never thought about it. I’m talking about French kissing, obviously, not a peck on the lips. Anyone could do that.

Canines can’t do the kissing motion with their lips, so it’s easy to argue that not everyone can give a peck on the lips.
You need to define what constitutes as a peck though.
According to Google, a peck is a measurement of eight dry quarts.

Pretty sure Max would want a Bronze.
She *probably* wouldn’t get a Bronze. Pernese dragon Bronzes and Golds exclusively pair with their own gender. And Max is straight, so if she paired with a Bronze she’d have issues come mating flights. And I doubt Max would want a Brown, Green or Blue.
Fire Lizards, on the other hand, are a lot less picky. Do we know if Max is a cat or dog person?
Was gonna say, Dragonriders of Pern suggest that a fondness for dragons isn’t that unusual for young girls.
Let’s not forget that Max is a D&D girl. Plenty of opportunities to come up with interesting ideas about dragon men.

Maybe those who don’t have flat-fronted faces show mandibular appreciation in other ways… not so much trying to figure out where your noses go, but more the “how do I not crush every whisker in the muzzle-nuzzle” (for those that have whiskers) vs. “one direction only else we end up scraping” (for those who are scaly).
In fairness to Garamm, dragons do have a propensity for kidnapping princesses (at least in folklore), and a college student is probably the closest he could find on short notice.
If nobody else noticed, there’s a slight typo in “sophonts” in panel 3. Easy to miss after the tongue-mangling xenonym =P
Also I’m 10000000% certain that the Furry community has figured out how kissing between every possible snout/muzzle/beak/chelicerae/etc. combination works, so you could always ask them for pointers.
The mechanics of kissing require one to be able to form a suction zone with their lips. This requires that one have lips, and perhaps more importantly, cheeks. Humans have cheeks because we’re descended from arboreal primates, who, like squirrels, evolved fleshy pouches around the jaws to hold food while they climbed. Most carnivores lack these, and would find kissing difficult.
Now, LICKING, otoh, and nuzzling, would be more popular and meaningful for carnivores.
Gaxgy seems to have some amount of lip. He is able to smile and cover his teeth. It my not mean the same things it does with us primates but it seems he can do it. The lips do look a little scaly though. With that full on smile in the last panel I’m thinking those look more like omnivore teeth. It might not be his strong suit but I wouldn’t rule out kissing.
Isn’t she already dating someone? A firefighter if I recall.
