Grrl Power #1507 – Egg-bot more like collusion-bot
Lesson learned, next time I do a wide format page, I make the comic itself kind of faded out with an arrow pointing down to the thing you have to click on to see the full sized page. I guess I take for granted that most people read my post, but there’s probably a lot of lurkers that hit and run the comic, just here for the colorful pictures, and then they’re off again. I don’t plan on doing that wide format often, but I’m also not going to agonize over how to lay out a double tall page that would work much better as a double wide.
Well, several of you predicted it, but it seems that scapegrace Mr. Disastar has riled up the field.
If Disastar can split up his beam at the last second to make it harder to dodge, then why doesn’t he do that for everyone’s beam? Processing power, obviously. That and the more times you beat Disastar and play through the whole game loop, the more of his beams he can do that with. Like a difficulty level thing. You know, if this was an arcade game. Which it isn’t.
Oh, look who it is in the vote incentive. The NSFW version is finally up at Patreon. Plus a bonus pic.
I think she would get in trouble for doing this. She’d mess up the… floor of the waterfall? Is that what it’s called? The receiving pool? No, probably not that. Anyway, she’d churn things up and cause a ton of weird erosion.
Since you might be wondering, Niagara Falls is about 165 feet high, so Babezilla obviously doesn’t have to be full sized. I’d say she’s about 175-180 feet tall here?
Double res version will be posted over at Patreon. Feel free to contribute as much as you like.

Alright, Posh dumpty is an instant favorite.
Yes, but will all the King’s horses, and all the King’s Men be able to put him back together once Max has finished with him
Huh. And I’d assumed that was some sort of “Split the attack so all the pieces miss” defense.
huh, imagine that. I was thinking like the one smart guy in the room.
IMO, the double wide pages should be saved for splash pages. You know, something like two sides of the competitors jumping towards each other, etc.
Oooo, I know who is for getting the batteries removed and tossed in the stellar recycler…Tamagotchi chump it is. (dang kids fed it wrong and I’m not feeding it)
It’s not that we don’t always read your comments, but your comic should definitely be able to be enjoyed in its entirety without the developers commentary, so to speak.
Needing to read them in order to actually read the comic… is perhaps the ultimate expression of this principle. ;-)
You know, I like the cut of Eggbot’s jib!
… so far.
Dave if you want to do another comic page with the wide style, rather than put faded-out comic up, just put a crude arrow with “click link below to see the comic” instead: that way people with poor eyesight don’t struggle trying to figure wtf is going on and get the hint right away. I read the page heavily zoomed in so seeing the text box takes long scrolling down before it even comes visible. Also mobile users probably also do the same I do, just for the reason that their phones have miniscule screens instead of poor eyesight.
Also don’t take the critique in a bad way: I love the comic you’ve been putting up!
Looks like something from the UK’s 2000 AD comic…
Hm just realized… where’s Manavore? That sword Max brought specifically to help deal with tricky magics.
Chilling out in hammerspace probably.
I like that robo-egg.
I thought the split beam was caused by something Zoaroth did rather than a choice made by Disastar. Making it split to make it harder to dodge makes sense, but now it looks to me like it missed Zoaroth on purpose or captured him in a laser cage.
Could there also be other differences in the type of beams fired? The ones against Egg-bot and Roseryan look to be continues, yet the slab of stone kicked up by Max seems to have blocked the incoming attack entirely in one hit.
