Grrl Power #1503 – Umami is in the mouth of the beholder
What is the funniest condiment? Originally, Cthillia demanded spicy mustard, but I capriciously changed it before posting. I do think both options are good on tempura… well, I don’t know about ratballs, but generally spicy mustard and yum yum sauce go well with most fried things. Ponzu sauce too. BTW, “ratballs” are not clumps of rat testicles or testicles from giant rats. It’s a rat, crushed into a ball, and batter fried. I don’t know where the extra bones come from.
Anyway, I don’t know if “Magic Shell” ice cream topping counts as a proper condiment, but I guess that’d be amusing to put on any random food item. Likewise, I don’t think candy sprinkles are proper condiments either. I think a condiment pretty much needs to be a sauce? Chutney is a funny sounding word. So is Tahini, but I think they’d both be perfectly acceptable for a fried crunchy meat surprise. Chimichurri is also a funny sounding word, but it’s also delicious. I dunno, maybe for a funny condiment, you’d have to veer into the unexpected, like if she wanted grape jelly for her ratballs. Or grape jelly and yellow mustard, which sounds foul, but actually, if you put equal parts jelly and mustard in a crock pot and dump in a bunch of meatballs, you’ve basically got a pot of sweet and sour meatballs. That used to be my go to for office pot lucks.
Is Deus kind-of-maybe hitting on Cthillia in a childish bid to make Sciona jealous? I have no idea, actually. I think he’s just being gregarious and obnoxious. He’d call it “chummy,” especially if he was kind-of-maybe hitting on a shark woman with a bucket of fish guts. See? Cause… the fish bucket… >cough<
As for why he’s got a box next to Cora’s suite? He knows Dabbler and knows she’s old friends with Cora, so maybe he found out that she was getting a suite and booked the one next to hers for… reasons? Probably to hit on Cora, if the opportunity arose, if I’m honest. He is definitely aware that Cora’s ship was conspicuously not reported as having left Earth, and Earth in the world of Grrl Power is still fairly excited about the revelation of aliens and the one spaceship full of sexy aliens that hangs out with the still newly revealed sexy superheroes, so there’s more than a little media attention on the comings and goings of Cora’s ship. Which I think I named “The Interdictor,” which is not especially memorable or creative, IMO. Maybe I’ll say it’s a heavily modified Interdictor class ship if it comes up again. I don’t recall if the name even appeared in the comic or just in my post below some page.
It would be weird dating a guy who could palm both of your butt-cheeks at once. I… assume. I have no perspective on that. Actually I probably drew Harem’s butt too small there in panel 2 and 4. It’s one of those things that looks okay from this exact angle, but if I had to animate it in a 3D fly around it’d probably be all kinds of messed up. I think I underemphasize hips on women, which I’ve been trying to correct – where appropriate. Especially fit women tend to have smaller looking hips because they have less padding to smooth out their curves, and I mostly draw fit women or beanpoles. I think I draw butts too small too, generally. Max is supposed to have one of those “a little too much time on the stairclimber” butts, AKA a conspicuous, but very fit butt. Granted I usually draw her wearing non-skintight paramilitary style pants, but of course Ixah has no excuse.
Oh, look who it is in the vote incentive. The NSFW version is finally up at Patreon. Plus a bonus pic.
I think she would get in trouble for doing this. She’d mess up the… floor of the waterfall? Is that what it’s called? The receiving pool? No, probably not that. Anyway, she’d churn things up and cause a ton of weird erosion.
Since you might be wondering, Niagara Falls is about 165 feet high, so Babezilla obviously doesn’t have to be full sized. I’d say she’s about 175-180 feet tall here?
Double res version will be posted over at Patreon. Feel free to contribute as much as you like.

I still say there is NO WAY X-face didn’t recognize Sidney from a dozen subtle clues involving body language and things most people don’t notice, let alone her very familiar behaviour pattern.
It’s kind of nice to see Cthillia smile, even if she is a killer for hire who’d gladly slaughter innocents to get her magic makeover.
I didn’t know Cthillia was a woman?
(Hands over a cup of breakroom coffee) Yeah about that, there are a few other things that I’m not going to spoil. We have a pool on what other cues about things have been missed. It’s okay, I let my coffee get cold the day realized a fact about Deus that is NOT in the bio. But, I have henched for a more than a few. Stuff about me, they don’t know either.
She has adopted the female gender while on Earth but there’s no reason to think her species’s genders (if any) are analogous to ours
Height. Hands large enough to store orbs. Not a known associate of Cora/Dabbler but with them now.
The number of supers on Max’s crew is small and known. He looks at every “new” member of Cora’s crew and goes through that list.
And that’s before the super-int which you pointed out. By his standards this isn’t hard.
Deus’ real super power is making everyone think he’s a super genius that knows everything when he’s actually just kinda smart and rich and everyone else just spends their free time building his insane reputation and making up plans he must have that don’t exist.
In other words, he’s OPM King of Grrl universe.
I have declared tomato paste to be a condiment.
I recommend a sandwich of your favorite bread with tomato paste and spinach-artichoke dip. I invented it to try and meet the dietician halfway.
Tomato paste also keeps longer in the ‘fridge than tomatoes do.
I still don’t think Deus is acting like he recognized Halo, and the women with him did not either. Given his pre-game attention to Cthillia his mind seems to be elsewhere. But I can’t put true multitasking beyond his abilities, so when the point finally comes up I won’t be surprisedto see Deus dismiss it as unimportant. What is important now is entertaining his ladies, and later it will be collecting the winnings from his revised bets (since he knows Maxima is in the tournament).
When it comes to character proportions, I’ve seen worse drawing than in here.
Ian Banks’ ship names (like “Nuisance Factor”) are fun. But then, the ship Mind gets to choose its own name.
Culture ship names are awesome.
personal gifts are a really good way to tie the loyalties of people to you that you can’t otherwise get.
He has the loyalty of his…subjects? Since their newfound wealth and wellbeing is directly tied to the continued existence of the country he created.
Cthilia however can just move on to other pastures if Deus gets offed, or she gets a better offer, so making friends with your mercenaries keeps loyalties.
And maybe Deus is also a dork who likes meeting new people and being buddies with them, he can combine the fun with the useful.
Come to think of it, knowing how to keep loyalties is probably why he has no clear successor. So-called meritocracy or not, having a clear successor is a prime way for dicators to get permanently retired, and this way he is the only one his subjects tie to their success.
If this could become a live action movie Patrick Warburton would be an excellent Deuce! Who would we get to play Sydney and Maxima though?
Hang on, is this the first time we’ve seen Cthillia without her mask? I think it is!
First time was Grrl Power #1086 – Befuddle a beholder
It’s impressive how you guys keep track of stuff like that.
Also, if that comic title is correct and she’s actually a Beholder, her “I could kill you at a glance” makes a lot more sense now, so double thanks for the reference.
While the full capabilities of all her eyes are unknown, at least one of them can induce a heart-attack when used at close range, Grrl Power #389 – Interview to a kill
Deus is an optimised character in the TTRPG sense. He’s the megolomaniac greedy businessman writ large, completely unapologetic about it and rubs your face in it, is manipulative, believes everyone has their price, has people murdered to further his plans, will sleep with any woman that catches his fancy…
And in whatever morality system Grrl Power’s reality runs off, Deus’ player took just enough traits to balance this out to be neutral: he’s not great at everything, he’s self-aware, he knows that if you don’t have and keep the loyalty of your subjects, you have liabilities, and he takes joy in some things that aren’t about money, like science or accepting an ashtray off a little girl who thanked him for killing the dictator.
And that’s why he’s irritating to some, irresistible to others.
He’s read the evil overlord list and actually taken it to heart.
And the logical upshot of that is to try to be a benevolent dictator with some quirks.
My guess is, the extra bones come from the rat balls with the bones taken out. Some want more bones, some want less.
Yeah… Deus is DEFINITLY the type to fuck anything once
Deus doesn’t want anything so mundane as conquest or domination, I think more than anything he wants to be in a position where nobody can act against him because it would make everything slid out of control.
“Chummy”…..
Your sense of humour has me swooning :D
