Grrl Power #1502 – Very demure, very distractible
I enjoy characters with emotive ears. Don’t be surprised if Sydney gets turned into a werefox at some point.
Okay, I probably won’t do that… Not permanently anyway.
It’s hard to get on the “secret” list once you’re on the usual list, but it’s possible, and nearly inevitable to be on both the secret and regular list at the same time. It’s about the order in which you are listed.
I don’t know if Sydney would have an extensive Celebrity Hall Pass list. She’s not above a little ogling and giggling with her friends over a cute boy, but she’s rarely overtly sexual. Most of her celebrity crushes are age inappropriate, but that’s because most of the media she consumed as a girl starred middle-aged actors. Her first exposure to Jerard Butler was formative. She enjoyed Tom Baker’s Doctor, but she was young enough when she was first exposed to Dr. Who that her fantasies just involved her being a companion and having space and time adventures. Guys that are 20+ years her senior.
That’s the range most of her list falls in, and if she ever met any of them IRL, she’d hopefully realize how much older most of them are, and would revise her list. Given that she has a comic shop with the clout to attract industry luminaries, it’s actually possible she’ll get to meet quite a few actors.
Oh, look who it is in the vote incentive. The NSFW version is finally up at Patreon. Plus a bonus pic.
I think she would get in trouble for doing this. She’d mess up the… floor of the waterfall? Is that what it’s called? The receiving pool? No, probably not that. Anyway, she’d churn things up and cause a ton of weird erosion.
Since you might be wondering, Niagara Falls is about 165 feet high, so Babezilla obviously doesn’t have to be full sized. I’d say she’s about 175-180 feet tall here?
Double res version will be posted over at Patreon. Feel free to contribute as much as you like.

Was Frix not told the reasons the list is secret, that he is not allowed to talk about it, or is he just very bad at keeping information confidential?
Because the last one seems very concerning for a space medical professional.
So, given the comment below this comic I can’t help but ask: How old is Frix? :-)
When it comes to age-appropriateness, are we going with the xkcd-Formula? I.e. “older person”/2 + 7?
I think it would be really funny if Frix is age appropriate but in his own species aging system it makes him seem too young or too old. Like he’s technically 7 in dog years.
I dont think that Frix’s age has been defined. I would tend to argue that he is a young adult for his species, equivalent to a late twenties/early thirties for a human but that is based on human prejudices. Sydney is not exactly a paragon of emotional maturity and I wouldn’t be surprised if she isn’t a late bloomer in terms of emotional relationships. So chronological age aside, there is a bit of an experience split.
Which characters are on the “earmoji” list?
Wow, that’s right. Sydney has The List! I recall her having a little notebook for it, which she would turn upside down for another List. Even Max was afraid of ending up on The List.
As she should be.
Do Celebrities like Sydney still get a Celebrity Hall Pass?
Gabriel Iglesias in a special discussed fanboy-ing over (I think) Matthew McConaughey while on the set of a movie, and was asked when he did it if it would still be a legitimate reaction. He replied “Yeah!”, since Gabriel thought of himself as just a comedian, not an ACTOR.
Heh, was thinking of the singer at first, until you mentioned him being a comedian and remembered who you were talking about
Even comedians can be celebrities, and even most celebrities are still people first. Not sure if you are asking if celebrities can have a Hall Pass, or if they can get one (ie, for the first one, being a celebrity they don’t need one {they can sleep with who ever they want}, for the second they are not allowed one)
So, Frix is in the “To Do” list, then?
More the “Keep Doing” list.
Multiple times. She keeps re-adding
Honestly would love to see Sydney go werefox for a bit (obviously not permanently since that’d alter her dynamic too much). Just not like Shifters werefox as it seemed to lower the already low intelligence of the werefox cheerleader.
She’s dating what seems to basically be an alien dog that talks. Not sure there’s such a thing as age appropriate other than “Are they of legal age” at that point :p
Legal age for a hyu-mon? Or for his species?
Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) is actually fifty years old
Lusting for a Listing was right there.
My thought as well, though I heard it in my head as “lustin’ for a listin'”. I guess my internal voice occasionally identifies as being from Dixie or something.
It’s possible that Sydney is trying harder to avoid saying anything deliberately to do with lust, since there’s likely been a bunch of drama about it already.
I’ll admit, as t 1st I thought there was a art mistake of something being in Sydney’s “ears” in some panels but not in others, until I realised that my mobile phone wasn’t showing enough detail, and that a quick zoom revealed that her “ears” are rotating automatically with her emotions….
More than likely Deus already knows that that Syd is the Tzerki in question, because he has a brain as big as Max is strong and he’s just having fun waiting for her to give them game he doesn’t care about away.
Persisting for a listing? Existing for a listing? Enlisting for a listing?
It’s worth noting that at this point, The Mighty Halo is probably on at least one person’s celebrity hall pass. Albeit not as many people as Max. Or Deus. Deus is definitely on some lists.
Insisting on a listing
So there’s three lists that Sydney has? The List, the smaller one that she flips The Book to write, and the ‘secret good list’.
As for the ‘temporary werefox’… I mean, I could see there being a running gag that she keeps forgetting about her Werefox form. But depending on what changes happen, she might not want to get rid of said form.
It also brings to mind the idea of someone not liking their were-form, and getting rid of it, to try and get a different one. Or a different character managing to collect every single possible were-form. Or attempting to. Tho more plausible would be a more general shapeshifter that just had a preference for pretending that they’re ‘just’ a were. Which, to be fair, could potentially be more useful than their other options.
I would have to wonder if Sydney’s list got started as an external memory adjunct. Post it notes and a rotating to do list on a white board was how I managed my ADHD in the workplace. Even in retirement my desk is littered in notes covered in lists.
It’s also possible that “The List” of things that pissed her off is an anger-management tool.
I wonder how Sydney would react to finding out that she herself is now featuring in many people’s celebrity hall pass lists. That’s doubtless thousands or tens of thousands of people who fancy her as an unattainable sexual icon.
Panel 1 is a little weird. Is Sydney literally waist height on Daphne when they’re both standing?
The hologram tech is quite good, but from the description I doubt it’s able to make you taller or shorter. You’d have to get used to walking again.
Oh wait. Daphne’s on a raised platform, since her bottom’s on a level with Syndey’s knee.
Wow – The List hasn’t been mentioned for a long time. A throw back if you will.
It would be more believable but redundant if Sydney turned into a weresquirrel.
