Grrl Power #1498 – Evil shopping and a show
The word panopticon derives from the Greek word for “all seeing” – panoptes. For some reason Deus is reversing the word to imply “seeing all” but is really just describing a regular stadium/colosseum where everyone sits around the action and looks in toward the center. Sight lines work both ways, so basically he’s being annoying.
You can tell Sciona might actually kind of… not like Deus, but maybe grudgingly respects him a tiny bit? She said she’d stab him in the lung, not the heart or the brain stem or the dick. That’s basically a love letter from her. It doesn’t mean she’s going to forgive prior slights, be they intentional or merely perceived. In the meantime she’ll continue to use him for orgasms and box seats – which Deus is perfectly aware of and is totally okay with. So… they kind of are dating, for a given definition of dating. I mean, dating usually implies that both people are interested in eventually advancing a relationship toward… sex? Marriage? Family? Splitting their mortgage payments? But some people date because they like being in a relationship, even if it’s not going anywhere. Some people have a person they hang out with because none of their regular circle of friends like karaoke or going to museums or that one local band. Maybe they sometimes have sex afterward, maybe they don’t. Maybe the sex they do have is exclusive, or maybe they have a karaoke sex friend and a museum sex friend, etc. Dating is basically just two people both agreeing that they’re dating. Or maybe I should say, at least two people agreeing that they’re dating. But man, dating as a thruple has to add a real degree of difficulty to a situation already rife with pitfalls. I assume it’s usually a couple looking for their unicorn, but I guess three people could just be hanging out and someone’s like, “Hey we should all date!” It’s probably happened?
Oh, look who it is in the vote incentive. The NSFW version is finally up at Patreon. Plus a bonus pic.
I think she would get in trouble for doing this. She’d mess up the… floor of the waterfall? Is that what it’s called? The receiving pool? No, probably not that. Anyway, she’d churn things up and cause a ton of weird erosion.
Since you might be wondering, Niagara Falls is about 165 feet high, so Babezilla obviously doesn’t have to be full sized. I’d say she’s about 175-180 feet tall here?
Double res version will be posted over at Patreon. Feel free to contribute as much as you like.

So what’s Sciona’s play here? What does she want on the colony ship, and why? Someone remind me what Skybreaker is.
The Skybreaker is a magic/alien tech item that was kept in the Black Reliquiry (it had been originally stolen from Sciona possibly, and she had been trying to get it back). It opens types of ‘wormholes’ similar to how Sydney can open Aetherium Causeways with her Fly Orb. Basically it ‘rips the sky’ open so they can step through it. However it requires some sort of magic or technology in order to ACCURATELY determine where you’re travelling to, like the sigils that Sciona made in her mountain HQ to get back to Alar, or the definitely-not-stargate-tech that Deus has created to get to Fracture Station. Otherwise, it creates more randomized tears, such as to a tentacle world or whatnot, like what Cooter Jones/Wyrmil used to distract Dabbler and Maxima from being able to pursue him (which brought Trentacle to Earth).
I can provide links if you’d like :)
More precisely, the Skybreaker was an expanded and improved device based on the Brane Ripper from the Black Reliquary. Sciona intended to take it (along with using the Epimorph to restore her Alari body), but got distracted when Deus piggy-backed onto her heist, hence the attempt to demand it from Deus, agreement to get her own page in Deus’s little black bookshelf, and following up on Deus’s info to retrieve it from Cooter/Wyrmil.
We don’t know about her full shopping list, but chances are at least part of it includes the necessary materials to repair Sciona Jr.’s damaged core and keep him off her back, which she promised to find, albeit under duress. The Alari colony ship was given as a possible source. Cfr. #1362-1365.
I can confirm that throuples can happen without it being a couple looking for a third, as a poly person who’s been in several. Once it it was me crushing on a couple and approaching them, once it was spontaneous generation as you suggest, and once it was me starting to date a third person who, a month or so later, started dating my other partner.
I had a throuple start as a team assignment – me and two other people. We worked together on it, under considerable stress, several hours a day for about two weeks – it was a very important class in our shared major, and a very important grade.
We finally finished it with every bonus goal complete, just a few hours short of the deadline, and went out together to celebrate. We were pretty happy with what we’d done together, and a bit delerious with relief, and in the middle of all the joking and laughing and being serious and laughing, we all admitted to being attracted to each other.
That was weird, so we needed time to think about it. We thought about it for several days, decided it was fine, and then we were together for about three years. It was the most serious romantic relationship I had with anybody in college, and to this day I sometimes wonder what could have happened if we’d all been a little more willing to fight to keep it together against all the judgemental assholes – including the ones in one of their own families.
That last panel is the most Deus way to look at a situation I’ve seen.
I honestly love him as a character. He approaches peak human, is setting goals and achieving them (not necessarily evil ones, either), all while having fun, seeking challenges, and new experiences. He might even be thwarting villains in his own way. Or employing them gainfully.
I think his main goal is to live to his own full potential. For example, right here we have him taking advantage of a situation to go to the fights and conveniently run into Maxima’s crew. No doubt he will see through Sydney’s disguise in a heartbeat but since it doesn’t get in the way of his plans he’ll simply squirrel the knowledge away until it’s useful. And no doubt it amuses him to let people underestimate him.
… Why does that gun make me think Nintendo Zapper made into a magical artifact.
Well there’s always SCP-674.
