Grrl Power #11 – The Lesser of Two Evils
More adventures in the hilariously spartan comic book shop. I really need to spruce up the walls with more posters and such. I’ve never been in a comic shop that didn’t have every square inch of the walls plastered to the ceiling with posters and merch.
Would those be real or fictional posters?
You’ll have to ‘build’ the shop from several angles
And paste the characters into it.
ps: I’m a new reader (I’d have to be!) and I’m looking forward to future installments.
Well just to be safe they’d probably “almost real” posters, like Sydney’s shirt is kind of a Wonder Woman shirt, but it’s not really the same design. On the one hand I could do funny spoof posters, but on the other hand, have you ever seen a comic store without a Superman logo on the wall somewhere? I don’t think Marvel or DC would care if someone tried to draw an accurate comic shop. It’d be like if someone took a photograph of a comic shop and then had to go in and photoshop out all the trademarked stuff.
I’ve been inside a comic shop that didn’t have the walls plastered like that. It was kinda bare but brighter than normal. It was also a newer shop.
Maybe a Carl Cthulhu plushy or two, some Neil Gaiman “Dream” or “Death” t-shirts, a Squirrel Girl postr ought to do nicely. How about a “I survived the Pandorica and all I got was this lousy t-shirt” t-shirt.
well, you can probably put it down as them just replacing the old stuff with new stuff.
mine did that a couple of weeks ago and it really looked similar to that…just a little geekier XD
Enjoying it so far. will definitely be keeping an eye out for updates :)
When we get to see the hero lair….
There should be dozens of ‘mundanes’ who work there.
Administration, Technical, Custodial, Food Services, ect.
I suppose Superman used to have robots mop the Fortress of Solitude,
but the ‘supers’ shouldn’t have to at theirs.
Oh I have plans.
Must be one of those crazy customers, at least I would guess so since the cashier has now run away. Funny.
Well, that customer knows what he wants :D
Assuming that he’s a customer, of course.
If laws are made to restrict what superheroes do, who would enforce those laws?
Archon!
I like the play on expectation – smoking… hot… geek
What’s Knecking? :)
basically two indivduals making out.
Even after all these years, that final panel always gives me a belly-laugh. Every time I see it!
BTW, Bookkeeping is one word.
rubber knecking? That’s an odd typo.
Huh, so it is.
You work in a comic shop, Sydney. There will be swords. Threaten them with vigorous swording if they get too annoying! :D
The most likely explanation is that they simply replaced the old items with new ones. Have you ever seen a comic book store without a Superman logo on the wall? I assume that Superman once had machines clean the Fortress of Solitude.
